Richard Szaniszlo

He graduated from Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2000, as a percussion artist in Hungary. During the academic years he spent a lot of time with playing jazz vibraphone and marimba music, own compositions and transcriptions.  


In 2000 He got Special Prize at the Jazz 2000 International Jazzfestival as vibraphone soloist in Budapest.

In 2002 he qualified for the finals of the 1st Hungarian Jazz Composer Competition with a septett, called Dance of Diablo.

In 2004 he was a semi-finalist at ISC in Nashville with his song, called Sophia; among the jury members were Pat Metheny and B.B. King.

In 2004 he gave a jazz vibraphone course – the first time - in Hungary.

From 2002 gives concerts at Radio Bartok regurarly. He played with his different formations in almost every jazz club and jazz festival in Hungary.

Faculty teacher at www.vibesworkshop.com. Percussion teacher at Janos Palotásy Music School.
